Got questions? We’ve got answers.

  • Do any of your retreats include flights?

No flights but plenty of good times!

  • Which Airport in Bali do I fly to?

Denpasar International Airport. The airport is approximately 40 minutes from the hotel.

  • What is required to travel to Indonesia?

What you need to travel to Bali (as of 22nd June 2022):

    • You will need to be double vaccinated and to download the International Vaccination Certificate (Australia only). If you are not vaccinated, you need to quarantine for 5 days prior to the retreat in Indonesia.
    • You no longer require a PCR test prior to travel. You will be temperature checked on arrival and departure of Indonesia.
    • Download the Pedulilindungi App.
    • Travel insurance that covers covid related costs.
    • You will need to fill out a declaration form online prior to arrival to Denpasar Airport.
    • You will need to purchase a Visa on Arrival (VOA) which costs approx. AU$50.
    • Follow advice on Smart Traveller (for Australians) or your local country travel advice website for any updated information.

  • What time should I arrive for the retreat?

We recommend arriving from 2pm for check-in and be ready to get started for the retreat with a meet and greet at 4pm.

  • What time should I book my flight on the last day?

We will start the last day with a workout and breakfast, then check-out by 10am. We recommend booking your flight from lunch time onwards on the last day or stay and enjoy more time either side of the retreat, it is your choice.

  • Can I book an extra night at the same hotel the night before or after the retreat?

Yes, you sure can. Just email Journey Crew at hello@journeyretreats.com.au to arrange this.

  • How do I get from the airport to the retreat?

There are plenty of taxis available at the airport at the exit, it costs about IDR 450.000. Alternatively, you can arrange to book a transfer through the hotel for US$35. Please contact Journey Crew to arrange a transfer by emailing hello@journeyretreats.com.au.

  • I’m coming with a friend, does the twin share package cover both of us?

The twin share cost is per person, i.e. if you are coming with a friend you would purchase 2x twin share packages. If you’re coming solo but purchasing the twin share package, you will be roomed with another guest also attending solo.

  • If I come alone will I get paired with someone in a room? Or can I opt for my own room?

It’s completely up to you! Sharing a room is slightly cheaper and is an opportunity to make a new friend. If you don’t wish to share a room with someone you don’t know yet, then book a single room.

  • What level of fitness do you need?

Our training is very holistic and can be tuned up and down depending on your requirements. We have a basic ‘fitness test’ and we say that if you can do that, then you can 100% do Journey:

    • 90 second plank hold
    • 10 push ups
    • 60 sec wall sit
    • 40 bodyweight squats

  • Do we arrive on the starting date of the retreat or the day before?

The retreat doesn’t officially kick off until the late afternoon of the first day, so coming on the day of is completely fine!

  • How many people attend each retreat?
Our Retreats on average generally carry anywhere between 30 and 85 guests! However we always ensure there is at least 1 Journey Crew member for every 10 guests to ensure there is plenty of guidance & support the entire week. We also offer bespoke retreats for our smaller groups. Hit us up if you’d like more info.

There’s plenty of you-do-you time! It’s your own Journey.
  • Do I need travel insurance?

We still strongly advise getting travel insurance. Here are some key reasons to still get travel insurance:

    • Natural Disaster
    • Baggage (including any items that may not be covered by your home contents insurance – think electronics or jewellery)
    • Sports Equipment (should you bring anything of your own)
    • Liability (if you accidentally injure someone else, damage or loose someone’s property)
    • Medical expenses including covid-19 cover
  • Are we allowed to drink?
Of course, we’re all about swinging the balance at Journey.

Our menu is designed to fuel you for the day’s requirements. Everything is made fresh daily and has lots of variety, catering for gluten free, vegetarian, vegan… you name it!
  • Do you cater for vegans on all retreats?

Absolutely! Our menu has plenty of delicious vegan-friendly options available on each retreat as well as gluten free

  • Is there always a photographer shooting the days/activities?
Correct! Sometimes you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. They are there to capture your moments.
  • Do I have to participate in every session?
We encourage guests to take part in all elements of the week but we understand that sometimes you just want to take a break. It’s your holiday and totally up to you!
  • Can I bring my child/children on the retreat?
We love our kids here at Journey, and understand that they’re a huge part of many peoples individual journeys! However, in the interest of managing our communities as a whole, we do need to advise that our retreats are designed for ages 18 years and over.
Our programs & events are designed to cater to adults. Therefore, children of any age under 18 are not permitted to be present or partake in any and all activities as per the itinerary as shared by Journey Retreats. The cost of each retreat package only covers one adult.

Any additional costs incurred includings things such as food, accomodation or care for the child/children is entirely the responsibility of the parent and needs to be arranged independently of Journey Retreats, and also in a way that doesn’t impede on the experience of both yourself and other guests taking part in our week long experience.

  • What happens if there's another COVID-19 outbreak?

Should there be another COVID-19 outbreak that closes borders or prevents you from attending our retreat, then you will receive a full credit for either the rescheduled retreat date, or any other retreat of your choosing.

  • Want to join the team?
Our crew are hand picked from all over Australia. Tip: Come on a Retreat, experience it first hand to understand what we do and who we are. Then we talk work.
